About the BPS Review and Test Registration Process
The British Psychological Society (BPS) Test Review and Registration has been developed to inform and protect the public by the use of ‘quality marks’ on tests that meet the European Federation of Psychologists Association (EFPA) criteria to be classed as having adequate psychological properties.
Tests can only be registered if they meet minimum quality standards that are set by the European Federation of Psychologists Association and against which the tests are assessed during the review process. If the tests meet the minimum standard for validity, reliability and information about norms or comparison groups then the test publishers can have their tests registered.
To end-user clients, test registration gives peace of mind through the knowledge that the assessments they are using have been built to quality standards and have received an internationally recognized “seal of approval”.
